A walk along the River Thames in London makes the fast pace of the city top of mind. Ships sail past, cars rumble across the nearby London Bridge, and trains blare in the distance. In the depths of the city, it can be hard to find a place to unwind. Enter Gibbon’s Rent, a one-stop shop for geocaching and relaxation.

Peel off busy Tooley St. onto Magdalen St., where the journey into the secret garden begins. The Shard, the tallest building in the United Kingdom, towers above just a few blocks away. Stroll down the narrow pathway between buildings and approach GZ. Suddenly, it becomes clear that this is not just any city walkway. This is a community garden hidden in the heart of London!

Pause to take in the beauty of this urban gem. An informational sign shares that all are welcome to add potted plants to contribute to this space. The sign also notes that passersby are encouraged to help water the plants, so fill a watering can to help quench the garden’s thirst on your way to the cache.

Nestled between plants, you spot a beautifully crafted Little Library. Set down the watering can and open the wooden double doors to reveal a plethora of books inside. It’s a challenge to look for the cache with so many interesting works of literature right before your eyes, but you persist. After a few minutes of searching, the cache container reveals itself. Not only have you found a geocache, but also a secret garden oasis!
