Phew! What a year it’s been!

As we hang up our coats, pull off our gloves, and put our collective feet up for 2022, we also close the book on two impressive Cache In Trash Out (CITO) Seasons! From Texas to Taiwan, geocachers collected refuse, planted trees, and crafted homes for pollinators.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the numbers!

CITO Season 1 spanned March 1 to May 31, 2022. During the season, 15,346 geocachers posted 25,969 attended logs on 1,401 Events held in 50 countries. Now that’s what we call CITO-tastic!

CITO Season 2 took place from September 1 to November 30, 2022. In this span, 12,175 geocachers posted 18,434 attended logs on 1,163 Events held in 51 countries. If that’s not global geo-love, we don’t know what is!

When combined, these CITO seasons are ones for the record books! Over the course of the seasons, 27,521 geocachers posted 44,403 attended logs on 2,564 Events held in 51 countries. Each Event and every attendee represents a testament to care, both for our communities and the wider world.
