A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.
– Douglas Adams

Geocachers enjoy celebrating geeky holidays, and Towel Day is no exception! It is celebrated on May 25 every year in commemoration of the life and work of Douglas Adams, author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Hitchhikers carry a towel with them on this day to celebrate.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide is well-represented throughout geocaching. The HQ GeoTour, Trackable Towels, and Towel Day Events are just a few examples.

How will you celebrate Towel Day? More importantly, do you know where your towel is?
