In this edition of Adventure Lab® Spotlight, we invite you to discover the Finnish city of Tampere with Braija the geocacher as your guide in the Geocaching Tour in Tampere with Braija Adventure. You might already know Braija as the main character in the GIFF Film, Wintercaching in Finland. Braija’s good humor and knowledge about the best spots in Finland’s second biggest city make this an Adventure you’ll want to add to your to-do list.
The Adventure consists of six Locations around the city. To answer the questions at each Location, you have to watch videos, featuring Braija in a starring role of course, linked in the Location descriptions in the app. It all starts at the Pyynikki observation tower, an impressive 75-meter-tall tower located next to the scenic Lake Pyhäjärvi. After watching the video and answering the question, you might be tempted to climb up the stairs of the tower for a spectacular view of the city, or visit the tower’s cafe which is famous for its doughnuts.
Your journey through Tampere continues with stops at intriguing and scenic sights like Finland’s oldest public sauna, a market square on the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, and a large tunnel originally created to transport lumber that is now used as a public recreation space. The Adventure is sequential and covers a large area of the city, so you’ll want to make sure you give yourself at least a few hours to complete it. You might even want to complete the Adventure over the course of a couple days so you have plenty of time to explore and enjoy all that each special Location has to offer.
